The Good Stuff

Spent a majority of the weekend with [livejournal.com profile] justben (well, straight from PPN on Friday night through last night around midnight). We had happy times – had some good food, some good conversation. I showed off more of my music geeky side regaling him with punk classics such as The Clash’s London Calling and Raw Power by The Stooges. He showed off more of his own geeky side, teaching me the card game Jihad/Vampire, showing me his minis, and discussing the possible future incarnation of a Vampire: the Masquerade game. It was all very nice and culminated in almost an exact recreation of this meal of yummy goodness. Yay.

The Bad Stuff

Saturday morning we were awakened to a woman banging on people’s doors yelling something about looking for the owner of a tan car. This is, of course, me. I threw on my robe and went outside and one of my neighbors told me that she had been walking her dog and saw my car get hit by a black SUV. She said that he hit it, got out and looked at the damage, and then stated something to the effect of "I don’t have time for this" and drove off. There was no note left on the car, so we assumed it was a hit and run. We then got dressed, took pictures of the damage with [livejournal.com profile] justben’s camera (the middle of the bumper and the bottom of the trunk was dented in), and checked with the leasing office to see if they needed to be involved (which they said any damages were the responsibility of the individuals, not them). We got back to the apartment, called Gwinnett PD, and awaited the officer’s arrival.

I started to make a call my insurance company, but the officer arrived when I was on the phone and I cancelled the claim. Apparently, at some point in the interim, a note was left on the vehicle that claimed fault and left the person’s contact info. We called the guy with the cop there, but I just left a voicemail. We also got witness information from two women (the woman walking her dog and another neighbor over the fence that had also seen what happened). The officer said to give the man until Monday to return my call and if there is no response, then I could file a hit and run report. The guy called me back with his insurance info today, so I left a message with his insurance and I am awaiting a call back. Blah.

So...how was your weekend?
