Awww good luck, don't be nervous! If you can handle interviewing the Soledad Brothers I'm sure you'll be fine with Jesse. He's one of the nicest people I've ever met... not that the Soledad Brothers aren't of course.

One of my personal faves:

"I have a big list of questions here that the [paper/press/radio station/record company] wants me to ask...

(This is always a good one. Because hopefully it opens the door for them to talk about anything. And hopefully they won't fuck around and regurgitate the same standard interview crap)

And, finally, "What is something that you've *always* secretly wanted someone to ask you about in an interview, but no one has ever asked?"

If that doesn't get you anywhere...

Ask what's in their fridge. That usually gets some good responses.

Ask what they are currently listening to, what they are truly listening to, not "Oh, I don't want to say I'm listening to Phil Collins, cause that's just not cool enough... I should say Lou Reed."

ok a slight off shoot but does anyone know why pearlene's drummer got deported from the uk just before the soledad's tour last may? hmm perhaps you could ask jesse that if no-one knows

yeah i think he was deported anyway, they said something like that but i can't remember seeing it was a while back! but yeah if you could ask why the drummer wasn't on tour with them that would be great thanks :)
