How'd you find me? I'm curious!

Anywhoo, I was thinking about you the other day, wondering what had happened to you. What happened between you and James? What sort of shit has happened since we last talked, close to two years ago?

At the moment, I am in my last semester at UAB, and about five minutes away from leaving for my first class of the day.

I have a DVD of the Sloan show we attended, which was mailed to me by this guy I met there. I can send it to you, if you know how to make a copy of it...and then perhaps you could send it back.

My mailing address here is

hey you!

that's funny that you were thinking about me the other day, too. james and i? i don't really know what happened, it seemed as if we were engaged to be married one day and the next he "realized he wasn't in love" or something. i guess it was all for the best, we were having severe finacial difficulties (part of the reason i never got that tape out to you). anyway, cliff notes version, i moved out of our townhouse, rented a room for a year with a friend, and now have moved into a place on my own. had everything in storage, but as i have been unpacking i found 1) the sloan video tape and 2) your cassette of your interview with jay. i knew i had to find you.

as for how, all i could remember was that your name was kevin and that, i thought, you went by "alabamasloanfan" and i thought that was probably your email address, but i had no idea if it was hotmail, yahoo, earthlink, etc. so, i goggled "alabamasloanfan" and found your livejournal. i love the power of the internet sometimes!

anyway, congrats on being in your last semester at school! i am still hoping to get back and finish my degree in english at some point.

as for the dvd, hmm, i think you need to have a dvd burner to copy it. i think my father has one, but i'll have to check on that. thank you for the offer though! how is the quality? that was a great show. i noticed in your journal you mentioned not really liking the new album too much. sadly, i was able to get it recently myself and felt the same way. too bad really, they are/were such an amazing band.

good talking to you! i'll get that tape out to you (finally!)...

Nicole,

You know, you and I really ought to meet one another again at some point, if you're comfortable with that proposition. I have two good friends in Atlanta, and I'm normally there at least once or twice a month anyway.

I have to say that my weekends are tied up with classes until the end of this month, but maybe, say...first weekend in February I could drive over and we could get together?

Well, I do understand about your relationship situation. I had been dating a girl on and off for about five years and then about a year ago we broke it off. She took a job in Los Angeles, and though we still remain friends, we had talked about marriage...so I know about what you must have gone through.

Quality of the show is halfway decent...it's on a digital camera mounted a few rows back...the sound quality is not great, either. Because it was mounted on a stand, there's not many angles you can get from that vantage point. It looks rather amateurish. It's worth a view, though.

If you can find access to a DVD burner, then I'll certainly send it over. It is my only copy, so guard it with your LIFE. :)

Thanks love,

Kevin

Hey there,

Yes, I think that would be cool if we met up sometime. I would love to see you again -- we had such a great time at the Sloan show. Just tell me when you would want to come, I am usually pretty flexible with time.

I’ll have to remember to ask my Dad about if he has a DVD burner, I am currently DVD player-less, but I have been saving to buy one anyway so that will give me an excuse to get one sooner.

Can’t wait to see you again!
