I just found out while looking up he and his wife up on Google tonight that an old friend of mine has died. In fact, he died almost two years ago in March of 2005.

He and I were never super-close, but I'd known him since high school and his partner, Renee Peak, was a very close friend of mine in high school. I'd lost track of them for sometime, but found them again in my late twenties. I was friends again with them for a while until my life took a decided shift and I lost track of them around 2002 or so.

Now my thoughts are with Renee and their son Nigel. I hope they are both well.

I guess this really puts a lot into perspective of how much things can change when you aren't good at keeping touch with people.

I have to admit, I feel like crap for not being there when this happened and consequently not being there for Renee to help her with this loss.

Maybe this means I should keep in touch with people more. That's always been a weakness of mine, though.

Condolences on your long lost friend. It's sad to hear that someone passed and you never really had the opportunity to say goodbye.

And just to give you a little boost - it was *you* guys who called us and invited us out to the movies a few weeks ago, so you gotta take a *little* credit for keeping in touch with folks. It had been *months* since we'd seen each other!

*hugs* And I hope you feel better soon, too.

Sorry for the loss...

Even if it was almost two years ago. He accomplished some great things, whether it was because of or in spite of his condition. Either way, he contributed quite a bit to Atlanta, and to enriching the disabled culture, and someone like that is always a great loss.

OMG!!

Renee and I used to hang out all the time in the early 90s. I only met Leonard a few times. She loved him deeply, I could tell. My heart goes out to her.
