I should really be catching up on reading entries and replying to comments I've received, but the tabs I have open are getting out of control, so here's a Doctor Who dump:

+ FIRST OFF: NEW DOCTOR WHO S6 FULL-LENGTH TRAILER MADE OF AWESOMENESS AND WIN! I might have hyperventilated a bit watching it, especially the bit at :37! IS IT S6 TIEM YET?? ETA: So, DigitalSpy did another scene-by-scene piece on the trailer. Eee!

[spoilers may turn up in the comments due to this, but I had to share my CAPSLOCK JOY]

+ The Lonely God is a Jerk. Old meta is old, but I just discovered it myself, so I thought I'd share for anyone interested.

+ I was hopping around blogs the other day and left this open in a tab because I liked what she had to say about Amy. For my own reference, I thought I'd quote my favorite excerpt here:

'I define a successful female character as a woman with agency who is portrayed as a multi-faceted person. A person who sometimes talks about men she loves, but sometimes doesn’t. A person who is sometimes fearless, but sometimes isn’t. A person who sometimes does the right thing, but sometimes doesn’t. Amy certainly has agency. The decision to travel in the TARDIS was her own, and she could never be told to do something she didn’t want to do. She traveled with a boyfriend, and now has a husband, yet it is clear that he is only (albeit the most important) part of her life. Her life doesn’t revolve around him, or even The Doctor.

And for every time she’s brilliant, she does something dumb. For every time she saves the day, she makes a mistake. She’s complex, she’s flawed, and she’s wonderfully real and easy to relate to even though she has looks many women would kill for. By the end of the fifth series, she is also a mature woman who has learned the value of vulnerability, and that it is very different from weakness. She is sort of a modern Katherine from
The Taming of the Shrew.'

YES! QFT, yo.

+ I bought this shirt the other day. Yes, I am a dork. Now, I kind of want to buy one [all?] of these.

+ As if I wasn't already interested in going to see the remake of 'Fright Night' with David Tennant [I'm a big fan of the original, okay?], then this blog post had to come along AND MAKE IT IMPERATIVE. [warning for fangirlishness, quite a bit of titillation, and very low-slung tight trousers]

+ Semi-related-gossipy-aside: I've heard through the grapevine that Tennant and Georgia had a baby girl the other day. Hope they're at least getting a little sleep.
