radiantbaby: (ben blackwell by me)
For all of your Dirtbombs and Ben Blackwell fans, here is a cool interview with him (with an interview with Ko on the same page). Ben is looking teh hawt and, eerily, like his uncle in some of the pictures.

Anyway, from the newest Cass records mailing list:

Now I'll be the first person to tell you that interviews with me are usually worthless. "What the hell's this punk have to say?" is usually followed by an angry toss of the broadside followed by a impromptu diatribe about the fall of quality journalism.

But I particularly like this latest interview. Check it out at http://www.turnit-down.blogspot.com/

Inside find rare European photobooth photos of myself at my dashing-ist and my bearded-est. And Burger King-est. For some reason I found myself decidedly honest to the interviewer, Rich. I think everything I say in the interview is actually true. I think. Scroll down further to find somewhat interesting interviews with the two greatest fuzz players the Dirtbombs have ever had, Ko Shih and Tom Potter.

Don't hesitate to email me back and tell me what an idiot I am. I relish in it.

radiantbaby: (music -- i buy vinyl)
Speaking of Detroit bands, I just discovered The Muldoons (NOTE: The link is to a MySpace site -- warning for music).

From the site:
"We are a family band from Detroit Michigan. We are two brothers that write, sing and compose the songs while our dad drums. Shane sings and plays guitar, Hunt plays guitar and sings. We started writing songs in December of 2004. We then started to put the songs to music in the spring of 05. We recorded our first 7" at Third Man Studio with Jack White. We played our first show at Masonic Temple in Detroit opening for the White Stripes. Its been almost a year now and we've played about eleven shows. Some of the other bands we've played with are; The Raconteurs, The Dirtbombs, Mooney Suzuki, Kelly Stoltz, The Greenhornes, SSM, The Hard Lessons, The Decks, Cyril Lords, PA. and the Come Ons"

Members are:
Shane Muldoon: Age 9, Lead Vocals and guitar on some songs
Hunter Muldoon: Age 12, Rhythm guitar and backing vocals
Brian Muldoon (yep, *that* Brian Muldoon!): Age 47, Gretsch Drums

Oh, the cuteness!

EDIT: Check out their MySpace pictures -- especially the one with Eddie Gillis (Jack White's brother)!
