death of a harddrive...

sorry i've not been around these last few days. thursday was a bit busy and mentally draining and then yesterday i came home to a note on the computer (in which both my roommate and i share) that said: "nicole -- it's really broken - had to reinstall windows -- lost everything."

chris (my roomie) was able to get the dsl up and running again this afternoon, but we are still picking up the pieces. luckily everything i had was replaceable (mainly pics of the white stripes and my fiction, which is all, thankfully, posted online), but chris lost tons of stuff (he was a bit of an mp3 fiend). poop.

anyway, so now i am trying to catch up on all the happenings online. saw mr. white's surgery video on whitestripes.com. was very interesting seeing the inside of my favorite guitarist's finger. poor thing. also just caught a brief newsclip of him on mtv that mentioned the surgery. wishing him well.

so, i'll post more soon. i'll have to work on my stories again once we reload microsoft word. perhaps this will give me a reprieve to get inspired again...
