What a day this has been! I have a stress headache that makes my head feel like it's about to explode. Oy! Still, I am not here to complain about my day. At least it is, for the most part, over. I am just taking a quick moment before I do some cleaning to update my LJ (as I so rarely do these days).

Last night was pretty fun. I met up with [livejournal.com profile] justben over at the [livejournal.com profile] tc_borderpagans meetup and the discussion was divination. I brought along my Crowley deck, my Aquarian deck, and my Moon Tarot for the "show-and-tell" (those were the easiest and most accessible tools). It was odd because I hadn't had much time to do any readings lately (I've been a bit rusty as of late), so I was surprised how energetic my decks felt when I pulled them out. I don't know what that was about. Anyway, [livejournal.com profile] walkingbear did a few readings with his beautiful Witches Tarot for a few people both at Border's and at TGIFriday's afterwards. It's always nice to watch how another person reads for someone. It can actually give a bit of insight into the reader and much as the person they are reading for. I contemplated getting my own reading done, but [livejournal.com profile] walkingbear was pretty busy with requests and I didn't have any burning questions, per se. I might try and get a reading from someone at the Pagan Potluck this weekend. We'll see.

Speaking of the Pagan Potluck, I need to get some pierogies at the store. I am contemplating cooking them in an herbed butter sauce, perhaps with some sautéed mushrooms thrown in. I am getting the potato-only kind for any vegetarians, and at [livejournal.com profile] justcallmeacorn's request, I will use margarine instead of butter so that he can eat it too. It's going to be a fly-by-the-seat-of-my-pants sort of dish, but I wanted to do something both creative and different than what I usually bring (though the pesto pasta with artichokes last potluck turned out rather well for another first time dish). I do hope it turns out alright. I don't know what [livejournal.com profile] justben is bringing, probably just his coat, hearty laugh, and charming smile ;)

So, anyway, I'll wind this up. I am still working on the whole Dreaming/Moondance piece I have been promising. It should be done sometime...this year ;) I am also making a little headway in my Strega studies. I may have found a potential teacher in either SC or New Orleans (if you know if any closer to me, please help -- [livejournal.com profile] triest have you any ideas?), I have become a little more active on some Strega lists, and [livejournal.com profile] walkingbear is doing some research for me on the topic for an upcoming TCBP discussion, so maybe I will learn something there. I mean finding a teacher has been my biggest stumbling block. I have mostly always been a solitary practitioner of things (with the exception of a brief period with a teacher in my early 20s) and I just want to take that next step in things and actually become a more active practitioner (read: initiate). A part of me has also been considering Hellenic Reconstructionism (due to learning bits about it from [livejournal.com profile] justben -- his path -- as well as the obvious link to my matron/patron deity Artemis) and even [livejournal.com profile] malficient and I briefly discussed creating our own "coven" for Artemis (as she is also Mal's matron/patron), but I would have NO idea where to start with that. I don't know, I am definitely at a crossroads in my spiritual life. I may end up mixing elements of those in with my draw to Strega, I have no idea (much to the dismay of my uber-traditional boyfriend, of course *wink*). I guess that is part of seeking, I suppose...

Oh yeah, and I can't wait to see Sky Captain and The World of Tomorrow.

That is all.

Pierogies in a red sauce is oh-so delectable, too. Salsa or marinara or sauteed tomatoes....

I'm hungry now.

Strega - I'd like to talk to you about it at some time. I've not heard of it till you. Looking forward to your pierogies!

Wow...synchronicity! Acorn, Rebecca and I were going to make perogies from scratch for the last potluck but got our times mixed up. LOVE, love perogies....was raised on those--I am of ukrainian ethnicity. Yummy, yum. Enjoy!

I have searched for four years and not found a teacher. I'd be very interested to know how your search goes. I really wouldn't mind a teacher in New Orleans either, as I love the city.
