A little of this and that...

Jeff Rennie is the coolest person on the planet.
Yes, he was nice enough to drop by the new place last night and sell me an old laptop for just $50.00. It's about 7 years old and no amazing piece of machinery, but for someone who is presently computer-less at home, it's a godsend.
Oh, and the Coyote Mexican Bar and Grill (or whatever its called) is soon going to know me by name. I went there last night with said Jeff, with
davidmcd sometime last week, and then about a week ago with my mother and my best friend Chris when I was moving. Its really great food though, even if it is a bit unflattering to the waistline.
Well, anyway, soon Jeff will be giving me the guitar lessons that I’ve been so excited about. He’s been a bit busy with the birth of his son last week, but it was still really good to see him again last night nonetheless.
first real kiss: Hmm, when I was about 11 with Jeff Rennie (ironically, now my good friend and soon-to-be guitar teacher). I have no real memory of it (just all the subsequent kisses we shared), so I had to ask him the details a few years back.
first job: Winn Dixie, courtesy clerk (fancy name for grocery bagger and cart go-getter)
first screen name: technically, it was “SGVP46C” (I can’t believe I still remember that!) – I was on Prodigy back in the day and like Compuserve you were assigned a group of letters/numbers for your online identity (well, I mean this was 1987 or so). I didn’t get to choose a screenname until I got AOL around 1995 and, being a big Durannie, I thought I’d choose something relating to that. Of course all of the good ones were taken, so in a fit I typed in the random “OktoberGal” (from their song “Secret Oktober” that I quite like) and it took. What a dumb name. Very soon after I was reading the Keith Haring biography and then became “Radiantbaby” instead and have been that ever since.
first self-purchased album: self-purchased? I remember getting the 12” to Duran’s “Union of the Snake” as a kid, but as for an album, I think it was Bowie’s “Tonight” album around 1985.
first funeral: I think that I have really only been to one. It was when my friend Jeff Shepherd died of AIDS back around 1996 or so. It was truly sad.
first pets: The first I remember was Mickey, an esquisitely evil black cat. I think I was around 4 years old when we got her.
first piercing: I got my ears pierced sometime around 2nd grade. I cried my eyes out from pain and my mother kept scolding me for doing so, thinking I was being a “baby.” Turns out they gave me a really bad ear infection and I had to take them out within days. I didn’t repierce them until I was about 18.
first true love: That’s a tie between my high school obsession Tom Kelley and my high school best friend Carol.
first big trip: After moving from Pennsylvania down here when I was about 3, I went back and forth from here to there a lot to visit my relatives. I was very used to flying by myself by age 5 of so. I would think that was pretty big. I felt like such an adult.
last big car ride: Drving 14 hours to Allentown, PA for a concert about 2 years ago.
last kiss: I got a sweet little peck on the cheek Saturday night from Jeff C., but other than that I would have to say Eric Foster sometime around our one-night-stand earlier this year.
last good cry: I cry about once a day these days. I had a really intense one Saturday, I suppose.
last movie seen: I watched both “Happiness” and “High Fidelity” two days ago, I can’t remember the order.
last beverage drank: Currently sipping on some Earl Grey tea.
last food consumed: some of my co-worker’s left-over birthday cake
last phone call:
xtwitch – we were setting up the gameplan for this weekend’s Soledad Brothers Mayhem. Its good to have another conspirator along for the ride with me and
barmaid1. Mwahahahaha…
last TV show watched: “24” at
davidmcd’s place
last shoes worn: wearing my “kingpin” black shoes right now…my pseudo, indie-girl-trying-to-be-corporate shoes of choice.
last CD played: currently consuming Muddy Waters: Rollin Stone – The Golden Anniversary Collectoion
last item bought: Jeff R.’s laptop – woo-hoo!
last disappointment: I’d rather not say.
last soda drank: Diet Coke at dinner last night
last ice cream eaten: apart from sneaking a bit at the occasional at-work birthday parties, I have no idea. I’m allergic (and always regret it when I think I am tough enough to have a scoop).
last shirt worn: I'm wearing one of my favorite shirts from childhood right now actually. I first got it around 14 or 15 and its black with white stripes. I don’t know why I still have it, but I love it. Its been through a few incarnations, it used to have attached suspenders which I pulled off (it was the 80s, you know).
