well, things have been a bit hectic lately, so curves sort of went by the wayside a bit. i was planning on going tonight anyway as i hadn't been since last week and, lo and behold, i got a call from the owner this afternoon to check on me and see if everything was alright.

oops.

it was a bit shameful actually, like i'd been skipping school or something. i doubt she meant any harm, but it was pretty humorous. when i got there tonight i immediately was rattling off excuses.

heh.

no, if i can only call up some more energy from the bowels of my being (well, maybe not bowels per se...) to start getting this place clean for saturday, all will be well with the universe.

in a perfect world, these are the shows that i will catch in the near future.

anyone wanna join me?

04/15 - paul melancon - earl - $6.00 -- i shouldn't get my hopes up for this one. paul and i seem to constantly miss one another likes ships passing in the night. seems every time i think i will get out to one of his shows, something goes a miss and i don't make it. then the inevitable guilt ensues -- i read his journal ([livejournal.com profile] hypnogun), i own his music, i should be at his shows, yeah? *grumble*

04/16 - BRMC - the roxy -- $22.00 -- okay, with a ticket price like that it's unlikely that i will go, plus it's probably already sold out. ah well. perhaps i will catch them someday at a better price (or they will just get huge and i will kick myself for years for not going to this show).

04/26 - blonde redhead - echo lounge -- $15.00 -- kev ([livejournal.com profile] xtwitch) and i will most likely be going to this. we've discussed it at least. *crosses fingers*

04/29 - elf power - earl - $8.00 -- even though my beloved bryan has left the band, i would still like to catch this show if i can. i've not seen them live in quite some time and have been procrastinating about getting their newest disc. we'll see on this one. being on a weeknight makes its a bit sketchy, as i turn into a pumpkin after midnight. hell, you could all just make pumpkin pie out of me.

05/13 - dirtbombs - echo lounge -- $10.00 -- kev and i are certainly going to have to catch this one. i almost want to try and meet ben and thank him for the tin knocker 45. they say he can be a bit of an ass though, so i am not sure i will. perhaps i can charm him with my feminine wiles...yeah, you almost bought that, didn't you? anyway, looking forward to this one. if only to be in the presense of jack's kin.

05/15 - sloan - cotton club -- $13.00 -- though [livejournal.com profile] iramoved made good points about missing this one as their career is on a downward slope, i don't know if i can turn down basking in the presense of chris murphy in-the-flesh again. *swoonness* he seemed to even be flirting with me after the show, but i had a boyfriend at the time so i didn't pursue it...i don't have a boyfriend now, though...mwahahahahahaaa!

05/25 - deathray davies w/ okkervil river - earl - $7.00 -- not sure about this one, i don't know anything about deathray davies, but i have been reading lots of good things about okkervil river. the verdict is still out on this one.

05/28 - beulah - earl - $11.50 -- oooh, such elephant 6 goodness. i have never actually caught this band play live, so i am curious to see how they will translate into a live performance. i dig them on record though, so i'll have to see if i can drop by for it.

i think that's about it. of course they are bigger shows i could attend in my fantasy world (bowie, blondie...), but i'll just stick to the smaller potatoes for now...

and the posts just keep on coming...

okay, so i need need need the newest issue of the british magazine the face (april issue) with john taylor in it. now that i am living way out in suburbia, i am finding it difficult to well...find. around here -- at border's and barnes and noble at least -- they said that their chain carries it, just not their locations. poop.

so, if anyone sees this magazine, i will do almost anything to get it (yes, that does include sexual favors, but i will pay you cash as well). please be on the lookout.

that is all.
