There's a *documentary* about Rodney on the ROQ? *runs to Netflix* Through the boring days of the Reagan 80s, when I was in Williamsburg, VA (not a scene capital, let me assure you), I used to read FLIPSIDE and MR&R to get news, and go up to DC during vacations to see bands. I wanted to live in LA so I could listen to Rodney's shows. I used his top 10 to put together *my* college radio shows, and when compilation albums came out, I'd buy them. It was all so much harder to hear good stuff back then before the Net. (Yeah, I'm a geezer)
And Joan Jett is a hometown hero (from Wheaton, MD outside DC). My old boss at the accounting office went to HS with her. Last year, she went to their HS reunion, which I thought was kinda cool.
