New A/C

I was going to post this over on atlanta, but I thought I would take a shot at it here as well:

My A/C has gone out and we have been receiving random quotes from companies around our area (Cumming, to be specific). The problem is, it is hard to know which companies are best to call and/or to get service from.

Does anyone have any recommendations for HVAC companies? Or any horror stories?

You might check out Angie's List -- http://www.angieslist.com -- because right now they're giving Atlanta people free trial membership for a year or something. I just signed up myself--I don't even know how much it costs when the year is up, but who cares if you just need something now. It's basically a site that rates companies based on feedback from members. If the free trial for Atlanta people is still going on, it couldn't hurt to check it out.

You might try www.kudzu.com. It's a site that lets people enter reviews of pretty much any kind of service. I used it to find a dentist. I'm not sure how helpful it might be but this is for "HVAC Services" for "Cumming, GA":

The reason I even know about this is because it's done by the company I work for and they've sent internal emails announcing it and so forth, but I gain nothing from it. It might or might not help to see what other people have had to say about various companies.
